God appeared to Solomon wanted to know what should he provide the newly appointed King of Israel. Now Solomon could have asked for anything yet simply asked for wisdom and knowledge. He did not request to have riches, long life, honor, a nice home, fancy car, a prosperous job/buisness/career, a spouse, protection from his enemies, children, etc. I'm sure I could fill up the next few pages with what he could have requested from the Most Holy, Omnipotent one, who can do all things.
2 Chronicles 1: 11-12
11 And God said to Solomon, because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
How awesome is that??? Wow. Now I ask myself what am I asking God for? Maybe I should put wisdom and knowledge at the top of my list.
